Anatomy diagrams are the lowest-effort, highest-yield revision in AS PE. Re-draw the major muscles (deltoid, latissimus dorsi, gluteus maximus, quadriceps, hamstrings, gastrocnemius) and the major joints with planes of motion until you can produce them from memory. Examiner reports show ~20% of marks come from these diagrams every year. For the cardiovascular and respiratory unit, pair every structural fact with a functional consequence. Don't just memorise that the bronchioles have smooth muscle — know that this allows constriction during exercise-induced asthma and explain the implication for performance. Skill-acquisition questions reward precise theory naming: associationist (Thorndike), cognitive (Fitts and Posner three-stage model), social-learning (Bandura), insight learning (Köhler). Practise applying the Fitts and Posner stages to a sport-specific scenario — e.g., a novice tennis player working on the cognitive stage of a serve. For sport and society, build a timeline: Wenlock Olympics 1850 → amateurism vs professionalism 1880s → working-class football codification → 1972 Munich Games → 1995 Bosman ruling → contemporary commercialisation. Each anchor date should attach to a one-sentence sociological consequence.
