1. The Service
Tutorioo is an AI-powered tutoring platform for students. We provide personalised learning assistance across subjects aligned with the UK curriculum, available through a web browser on any device. The service is designed to supplement, not replace, formal education.
2. Eligibility and Age Requirements
Minimum age to use Tutorioo: 13. You must be at least 13 years old to create or hold an account on Tutorioo, or otherwise to use the service. Tutorioo is not available to children under 13. Every sign-up path requires a date of birth and automatically rejects any registration where the user is under 13; no account is created in that case. There is no parental-consent route that would allow a child under 13 to register.
Users aged 13 to 17 may register independently but require a parent or guardian to manage any paid subscription.
By registering, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and that any information you provide (including date of birth) is accurate. If we discover that an account on Tutorioo belongs to a person who is under 13, we will close the account and delete the associated data.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities carried out under it. Please keep your login credentials confidential and provide accurate information when registering.
You may add multiple children as learners under one parent account. Each child has their own separate learning profile, session history, and progress data.
4. Billing and Payment Provider
All subscription payments are processed by Paddle (paddle.com), our payment provider and merchant of record. When you purchase a subscription, your payment contract is with Paddle, who collects and processes all payment details under their own terms of service and privacy policy. We receive only a confirmation of your subscription status — your card details never pass through our systems.
By completing a purchase, you also agree to Paddle's buyer terms.
5. Subscriptions and Cancellation
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) and renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your subscription at any time. You can cancel through your account settings or by contacting our support team. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access to your plan until that date.
6. Refund Policy
We handle refund requests fairly and on a case-by-case basis. As a general guide:
- Mistaken purchase: If you purchased a subscription in error and have not used the service, contact support and we will issue a full refund.
- Partial usage: If you have used part of your subscription's included minutes, your refund eligibility will be assessed based on how much of the subscription has been consumed. We aim to be fair — if you have barely used your plan, we will refund accordingly.
- Full usage: If you have consumed all of your subscription's included minutes, a refund will not be issued as the service has been fully delivered.
To request a refund, contact us at support@tutorioo.com. Our support team will review your request and respond within 24 hours.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Share your account credentials with others
- Attempt to circumvent safety or content-filtering features
- Extract, scrape, or copy content from the platform
- Interfere with the operation of the service or its infrastructure
8. AI-Generated Content
Tutorioo uses artificial intelligence to generate lesson explanations, quiz questions, hints, and progress summaries. While we work to ensure accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors. You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for high-stakes decisions. All AI content is supplementary educational material.
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the service (such as homework questions and quiz answers). By submitting content, you grant us a limited licence to use it solely to provide the service to you. We do not use student-submitted content for marketing, advertising, or AI training purposes.
9. Intellectual Property
Tutorioo and its original content, features, and functionality are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform content without our written permission.
10. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK law, including those provided by the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which requires that digital services be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If we fail to meet these standards, you may have a right to a remedy under applicable legislation. These Terms do not limit or exclude any rights you have under UK consumer law.
11. Disclaimers
We do not guarantee specific educational outcomes. Every student learns differently and results will vary. The service is not a substitute for professional educational assessment, special educational needs support, or formal schooling. Our AI may occasionally produce inaccurate content — any concerns should be raised with a qualified educator.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tutorioo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in this clause limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Force Majeure
We will not be liable for any delay or failure to provide the service resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to internet outages, third-party service failures, natural disasters, or government actions. We will take reasonable steps to restore the service as soon as practicable and will keep you informed where possible.
14. Termination
You may close your account at any time through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in harmful activity. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email or through a notice on the platform. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction (UK consumers)
This document applies to consumers ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the service, where the dispute is brought by a UK consumer, is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in this clause restricts any non-waivable right of a UK consumer to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which they are resident.
If you are a consumer ordinarily resident in the United States, our US Terms of Service apply to your use of the service, including the governing-law clause set out there.
